Brief: The extensive STEM renovations to the Golden Grove high school included a shaded outdoor gathering space with raised planter beds, timber benches and ‘tri-benches’ clad in a specially sourced, thermostatically roasted and stained pine called ‘Vulcan - Straw’ by Austim Timbers.
Solution: Spark was engaged by the landscape contractor to supply the furniture using the ‘Vulcan’ timbers. In-house industrial designers produced designs for the tri-bench in a three-sided star and the planter seating with clever concealed fixings that allow for easy maintenance.
